Llanddarog Fair Cakes recipe

Ingredients:

12 oz self raising flour
8 oz butter
6 oz castor sugar
3 tablespoon castor sugar
3 tablespoon beer
4 oz mixed fruit.

Method:

1. Rub the butter into: the flour and add the sugar.

2. Mix in the beer to form a soft dough. Roll out on a floured board to a thickness of ½ inch. 

3. Cut into rounds and press the fruit into the surface. 

4. Cook in a moderate oven (376/F. or Mark 5) for 15 minutes.
